The Beastie Boys first album in eight years, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. Two is all over the webs, as it should be. Sampler for the new Amon Tobin CD ISAM. It got pushed up and dropped yesterday after it leaked early. Out on Ninja Tune now. The UK based Brazilian somehow turned field records into “playable instruments” and uses his own vocals this time around, “synthesized and gender modified.”

Gerard Smith, bassist for Brooklyn breakout band TV On the Radio passed away today from lung cancer. He was 36. We weren’t the biggest fans, but we remember them knocking around Williamsburg at the turn of the century, as it were. It was good to see them go big and remain interesting.
